Cooperation

Below you will find information about activities undertaken by the Forschungsverbund Berlin (FVB) in cooperation with partners from universities, research institutions and industrial enterprises. Activities include involvement in Collaborative Research Centers, Priority Programs and Research Units funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG); participation in graduate research schools, Leibniz research alliances and networks; as well as labs operated jointly with universities.

Projects and networks funded by the European Commission can be found here.

Networking with universities

FVB is part of a wide range of national and international networks and initiatives. It has particularly close links to universities. Not only FVB institute directors but also many senior researchers hold chairs at universities. Currently around 40 professors have been jointly appointed with Berlin’s universities – Technische Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charité – as well as with the University of Potsdam and Goethe University Frankfurt. In addition to teaching at the above institutions, FVB scientists also lecture at over 20 other universities in Germany and abroad. FVB has around 1,900 employees, including Bachelor and Master students, degree candidates, doctoral students and visiting researchers.
