FVB’s ambition is to steadily and sustainably raise the percentage of women in specialist and executive positions in technical and scientific areas. To achieve this, entry and promotion conditions for women must be improved, as well as the targeted professional development of female staff. FVB supports the reconciliation of family and work, taking into account all employees’ family commitments. Details can be found in the respective institute’s equal opportunity schemes and plans to promote women.

Another task is to increase family-friendliness. The individual institutes have taken a number of initiatives, including flexible working hours based on internal flexitime agreements, individual agreements on part-time work due to family circumstances, the creation of a children’s or family room, and the provision of a quota for emergency childcare.
