Working in a networked organization

The Forschungsverbund Berlin is home to around 1,600 employees from more than 60 different countries. Within the alliance’s seven institutes, they conduct internationally competitive cutting-edge research on exciting and challenging scientific topics. At our institutes, research takes place in close collaboration with universities and other national and international research partners, and is firmly established in the unique and highly diverse cultural and scientific landscape of Berlin and Brandenburg.

We gain enormously from ongoing exchange with scientists from all over the world, and offer an open, dynamic research environment with the best possible facilities.

We promote equal opportunities, and seek to increase the proportion of women, particularly in management positions.

Great importance is attached to promoting the professional development of young talent – not only our researchers, but also our technical and administrative staff.

Scientists from FVB institutes are happy to act as supervisors for Bachelor and Master’s students writing their final thesis; doctoral candidates team up with our researchers to develop their scientific ideas and successfully complete their PhD project. We believe in the importance of equipping our doctoral candidates with excellent skills, such as the ability to expand their network and gain experience in preparing project proposals, to publish their first articles, and to prepare for the wide range of career opportunities both within and outside the academic world.

Technical and administrative staff, who provide professional support to our researchers, also appreciate us as an attractive, family-friendly and modern employer.
