The new members of the BR50 governing body are Dr. Noa K. Ha (German Centre for Integration and Migration Research, DeZIM), who was elected deputy chair and will coordinate the Social Sciences and Humanities Unit, Professor Dr. Volker Haucke (Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie, FMP), who will coordinate the Life Sciences Unit, and Professor Dr. Bernd Rech (Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, HZB), who will now serve as coordinator of the Natural Sciences Unit.
Two members were re-elected to the BR50 Board of Directors: Uta Bielfeldt (German Rheumatology Research Center, DRFZ), who will continue to serve as Treasurer, and Professor Dr. Michael Hintermüller (Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics, WIAS), who was elected chair and will continue to coordinate the Technology and Engineering Unit.
As such, two directors of FVB institutes – Michael Hintermüller and Volker Haucke – are now represented on the BR50 Board of Directors. The Forschungsverbund Berlin warmly congratulates them on their election to this consortium, which is so important for the Berlin research landscape.
Berlin Research 50 represents non-university research in Berlin – for a fair, healthy, and sustainable future. To quote BR50: “Together with the universities, Brandenburg’s research institutions, and the public, BR50 works to position the Berlin-Brandenburg area as one of the leading European metropolises in science, higher education, and development.”
