Provisional Managing Director: Martin Böhnke

On April 1, 2024, the Board of Trustees appointed Martin Böhnke as acting Managing Director of the Forschungsverbund Berlin.

Martin Böhnke had been the legal advisor of the Forschungsverbund since April 2022. Until then, he worked as Vice President at the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen. Previously, he was Chancellor at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. After studying law at the Leibniz Universität Hannover and completing his legal clerkship, he took on various roles, including as Faculty Managing Director at the Leibniz Universität Hannover.

His predecessor, Dr. Nicole Münnich, left the Forschungsverbund on March 31, 2024 to become Chancellor of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

A new permanent Managing Director is not expected to be appointed until fall 2024. The application procedure has started.
