Roman Engel-Herbert appointed as new director of the Paul Drude Institute for Solid State Electronics

Prof. Dr. Roman Engel-Herbert, has accepted the call of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin to the W3-S professorship "Experimental Physics/Material Sciences" and assumed the directorship of the Paul Drude Institute on July 1, 2021.

Roman Engel-Herbert, born in Dessau and raised in Rostock, Germany, returns from Pennsylvania State University in the U.S., where he held a professorship in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering since 2010, and became a faculty member in the Departments of Chemistry and Physics in 2016 and 2017. The multidisciplinary nature of his application-oriented research focuses on the synthesis of new materials using molecular beam epitaxy.
