The State Secretary began his visit by touring laboratories at the Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung and the Max Born Institute for Non-Linear Optics and Short-Pulse Spectroscopy. There, young scientists presented their innovative projects. Dr. Andreas Fiedler (IKZ) gave a presentation on the BMBF-funded project “All-GO-HEMT” as head of a junior research group. At the MBI, Dr. Bernd Schütte led a tour through the attosecond laboratory. Afterwards, Dr. Henry Marx met Dr. Jutta Koch-Unterseher, Head of the Department for Non-University Research at the Berlin Senate Department for Higher Education and Research, Health and Long-Term Care, Prof. Dr. Stefan Eisebitt and Prof. Dr. Dorothea Fiedler, the spokespersons for the Executive Board of the Forschungsverbund, and Managing Director Martin Böhnke to discuss important topics, such as joint appointments and the building situation of the research infrastructure.
